Dealing with Large Alder Growth These Alders grow so big then they fall to the ground continue growing then the trunk starts rooting even more then the branches turn into trees. In the picture I am hauling this root mass with about 5 such trees to the burn pile.

Saving the Birch Tree after all! This is the Birch Tree I was thinking might have to come out, after clearing the area and taking some measurements it looks likes this nice tree gets to stay. With the Alders cleared all around she might even enjoy having her own space.
